Mrs. Norman Smith, Bruce North District President and a resident of Park: Head, took charge of the election of officers, and the group became the Skipness branch of the Women's Institute. Officers were as follows: President, Mrs. Graham Chambers; First Vice--President, Mrs. Archie Blue; Secretary--Treasurer, Mrs. David McDonald; District 'Director,, Mrs. Harvey Beirnes. . > ' | .__ One of the first projects was the buying and selling of cards to aid the Wiarton Hospital. The group worked to help the Bruce County Children's Aid Society as well as Institute projects. . __ As time went on, interest waned and on March 31; 1966 at a meeting held at the home of Mrs. Harvey Beirnes with seven members present, a motion was made that due to lack of interest by the members the Skipness branch be disbanded. | ' On April 20, 1966 the motion was passed and the Braach disbanded.
