Off we went to England, Scotland and Wales on August 4, 2016 for 12 days of adventure before attending the ACWW Triennial Conference in Warwick. What a time we had; staying in castles, seeing Stonehenge, attending the Military Tattoo in Edinburgh, watching falconry shows, knights jousting and the list goes on. There were seven of us on this fantastic adventure. What a time of fun and fellowship we had. If you were a shopper, how you would have enjoyed yourself. Our tour guide was informative, the food was very good and the accommodations excellent. Attending the ACWW Conference at Warwick University put the finishing touch to a most enjoyable trip. After the Conference, 15 of us took the train up to Edinburgh, Scotland for the beginning of a nine-day tour. We heard the pipes, saw highland dancing, the presentation of the haggis (got to taste it too), walked the Royal Mile and saw the Military Tattoo. We spent a couple of hours at the majestic Dunrobin Castle (1300's). My, what a view from the castle windows over the formal gardens to the North Sea. A ferry ride took us to the Orkney Islands where one of the sites was the remains of a Neolithic village. Now that was interesting! Of course we went to Loch Ness - didn't see Nessie though. We saw battlefields, crossed to the Isle of Skye, saw castles, watched a farmer work his sheep dogs and thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Scotland. Where to next? The absolute trip of a lifetime - Iceland: Land of Fire & Ice - August 27 to September 4, 2017. This is going to be a fantastic trip! Interested?
