Title: Winsome Wanderers
Each of our Winsome Wanderers found ‘the perfect Treasure rock’. Meeting once again
at the New Dundee Picnic Shelter, under "skies so blue", our team chose a theme of friendship and mental health (love, wellness, and encouragement) to paint our "masterpiece" rocks. We had a lovely time and thanks to our two super crafty team members, we had a great variety of paints to choose from.
In our photo: from left to right – Judy Lewis, Nancy Birss, Luanne McGinley and Lora Count.
Luanne painted her stone with a heart and the “I Love U” inscription, and placed it in a backyard garden of a relative. This relative needed to know that she was valued and loved. When she found my rock in her garden she expressed happiness about the message and said that it gives her hope when she looks at it and that the colourful rock added to the attractiveness of her garden.
Judy painted her rock with a happy face and a "Be Happy!" message. It will be placed in the garden, along with a few other rocks with similar positive messages. When her young grandsons visit next, they will have a great time hunting for treasure. Since their love of hunting for treasure is exceeded by their love of hiding it for others to find, many hours of fun will be had by all!
Nancy painted her rock with a mountain scene and the message “You Got This”, for a family member, to encourage her that she can climb any mountain obstacle in her life. The rock was hidden in the house and much appreciated by the recipient.
Lora: I placed my happiness rock in my neighbour’s flowerbed. To me she embodies happiness and the joy of living. She is so positive and upbeat in spite of relationship and personal health challenges. She has become a friend that radiates happiness, making even the smallest event a celebration!
The rock painting was novel for most of us and it was rather a thrill to see not only what we produced but the joy it was to give to others who really appreciated it!
Thanks WISH for the challenge ☺.
