- Description
- Our team met this challenge in a different way. We are not a group that goes out for beverages. We do, however, meet in each others’ homes for tea and a chat. Such an occasion arose when there was a recent birthday celebration, featuring a friend, Vera, who is not currently a W.I. member. We met for tea, talked about life events, and caught up with what’s new in our lives.
The conversation turned to the Women’s Institute. We were able to chat with our friend about the values, good works, and education essential to W.I. She did not initially know much about W.I. apart from the education initiatives. We got out our W.I. memorabilia and shared stories, books that Annemarie McDonald had published, and had a great chat about what our branch is currently doing.
As shown in the photo, Vera (seated between Annemarie and Donna) was quite happy to receive the bookmark, and it was a great afternoon shared by all. - Notes
