- On a sunny afternoon the Wandering Investigators met at the only cafe on the island that is open year round. It was a special day because all four team members were able to come. The cafe was quiet, and we waited a long time for someone to hear our story. Then a young woman named Kirsten arrived. She was friendly and kind and listened patiently as we explained our mission. She had heard of the WI and knew about the food drives we had organized. We talked about the 125th anniversary of the WI, its birth in Canada, and also our branch’s 100th anniversary in 2027. We asked Jeannie to present Kirsten with the bookmark. Kirsten took it with a thank you and a hug for Jeannie.
