An estimated crowd of about 7,000 witnessed the mammoth parade from Alder view Estates subdivision through the village streets. There were more than 80 entries with six bands including the Gait Kiltie Band, the Col. John McRae Pipe Band of Guelph, the Ingersoll Pipe Band, the Waterloo Regional Police Band, the New Ham burg Band and New Dundee's Little German Band. The ocal band directed by Earl Einwechter, which also entertained on Saturday and Sunday was sponsored by the Musicians' Union and Fiederlein's Food Market. The Wilmot Horticultural Society won the award for the jest overall float. Plaques were also presented by area business firms and organizations for the following entries: the Plattsville Board of Trade, New Dundee Senior Citizens, Mueller Nursery and Landscaping, Don Glo Stables, Wallbank Manufacturing, Leslie Riley, Merlin Trussler ind Elverne Hallman for their intique cars; the New Dundee Fire 'Department's exhibit of a John Barclay iteam engine, Woolner Cress Farms' entry of a wagon manufactured by the former Weber Brothers Carriage Works in the village, New Dundee Calorie Counters for heir historical float of the Mlillar Family, the Wellesley Board of Trade, the New Dundee Community School Association for its float depic-ing teacher Mrs. Marion Romahn and several three generations who have attend-ed the local school including the families of Garfield Weber, Harold Poth, Weston sararus and Willard Becker, the United Brethren Church which had the. first English Sunday School in the village; the Holland Canada Folk Dancers, Wilmot Horticultural Society, the New Dundee Optimist Club, O.
