Local Couple Observes 61st Anniversary 1966 Mr. and Mrs. Edwin F. Scherer, well known local couple, marked the 61st anniversary of their marriage December 26 at a family dinner. A special mass was conducted at Holy Family R.C. C hurch, attended by their family and friends. The couple were married at the church 61 years ago. Mrs. Scherer is the former Miss Clara Wanklin, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tobias Wanklin, and Mr. Scherer is a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Scherer of Baden. For many years, he was active in sports circles in town, having played for a number of hockey teams here over the past half century. He also was a member of the Turf Club executive for 18 years. Members of the family present for the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Scherer of Kitchener and their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Strome of Toronto; Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Scherer and family of Gait; Miss Delores Scherer, Syracuse, N.
