D.M. Gowdy Heads Canadian Club Douglas M. Gowdy, business manager of the Financial Post, was elected president of the Canadian Club at the annual meeting yesterday. Mr. Gowdy succeeds Edgar G. Burton, managing director, Robert Simpson Co. Ltd. Other offices were filled as follows: First vice-president, G.E. Phipps; second vice-president, Peter Wright; honorary secretary, R.F. Chisholm; honorary treasurer, W.L. Knowlton. The executive is: E.G. Burton, J.B. Allen, Ian Armour, R.M. Barbour, D.D. Carrick, K. Le M. Carter, John Deacon, J.W. Langmuir, G.H.
