    Submission part of the WISH challenge for WI's 125th anniversary.

    Gillies Hill and Williscroft WI of Bruce East District held a family barbecue in 1998, with proceeds used to erect signs to mark and preserve the pioneer communities in Elderslie Township. "Big Bruce

    A cairn was erecting on the site of the Township Hall at Gillies Hill in 1967. It reads "Gillies Hill - site of municipal government 1856-1963 in memory of the pioneers of Elderslie Township."

    In 2017 Gillies Hill WI members proudly marked their 20th anniversary of cleaning the roadside of a section of road north of Chesley, Ontario.
